Junior Golf at Lakes on Saturdays

We, at Lakes Golf Club, together with North Harbour Golf Assoc, are trying to encourage juniors to play the game of golf. A huge dilemma facing parents, once kids have finished a clinic, is where to now. Where can their children play? Where can they learn the basics and get competitive knowledge and practice on the golf course.

Come and join us, every Saturday, at Lakes to tee off from 2pm for 9 holes of golf. (18 hole golfers are welcome but at this stage we are concentrating on 9 holes of golf on the Saturday afternoon.). Cost $10 for 9 holes - only when playing in the Junior session on Saturdays. Green fees for juniors, outside these competitions, is $13.50 for 9 holes. If you have a junior membership at Lakes, there is no additional green fee.
All children initially will need to have a parent accompany them on the golf course – either by playing with them (at a reduced rate of $15 – only at Junior sessions) or merely walking with them.

Different divisions “Rookie”, “Cambo” and “Tiger”, dependant on the gross score. Kids are encouraged to improve so that they can get into the next division.
Special “Junior” scorecards will be issued. These scorecards are from the red tees and will eventually be added to the Dot Golf website.
Lakes Golf course offers a junior membership of $250 per annum from the date of joining Lakes to a year thereafter.

“First Time for Golf” clinics are being run, in conjunction with this programme, by volunteers of North Harbour Golf. This is only for basic beginners, to get them up to scratch to go on the golf course.
The cost is $10 per session – whether on the golf course or the driving range (1 bucket of balls per session only). Booking essential.
We want to get the juniors onto the golf course as soon as possible. Other more advanced clinics are being run at Lakes Golf course at $100 for a 4 week clinic.
